Whilst late-era WCW may often be a slog to get through, one of the more enjoyable acts of this time was the West Texas Rednecks. With talents like former NWA world champion Barry Windham and former Intercontinental champion Curt Hennig, there are likely one of the more memorable factions of WCW in its last few years.
The stable was a group of fun, oblivious southerners who loved country music. They got over with good singing talent, with the hoaky songs such as ‘Rap Is Crap (I Hate Rap)’ and ‘Good Ol’ Boys’. They had a short lifespan but the team of guitarist and vocalist Curt Hennig, bassist Kendall Windham, drummer Barry Windham and lead guitarist Bobby Duncum Jr. were all seemingly having fun, so were entertaining to watch.
They held some tag gold along the way, feuding with The Filthy Animals and No Limit Soldiers. They also added tambourine player Curly Bill (Vincent/Virgil) towards the end of their run.
