When the Radicalz departed WCW and made their way over to WWF, there was a lot of talent among those 4 guys.  Chris Benoit found his way and would achieve success.  Eddie Guerrero eventually found his way and would achieve success as well.  Unfortunately, Dean Malenko would never be able to duplicate his friend’s path.  Benoit was fierce, Eddie was charismatic but Dean was just Dean.  His personality and lack of charisma is what would ultimately be his downfall but in a make believe world where in ring ability made you king, Dean might have been able to surpass them both.  He was every bit as technical as Benoit was but he seemed to be much more smooth with his delivery.

The Man of 1,000 Holds had the ability to put on a wrestling clinic every time he stepped in that ring, no matter the opponent standing across from him.  Perhaps if he was a bit bigger, the lack of character wouldn’t have held him back as much.  But it is almost criminal that Malenko was never at least awarded the opportunity to get the ball and run with it based on his wrestling.  If you don’t know what I am talking about, I strongly urge you to go watch some WCW clips of Dean to see first hand how masterful he was in between the ropes.
