1. Kenny Omega vs Rich Swann (Rebellion)

Kenny Omega has become perhaps the biggest star in wrestling today since his exploits in NJPW proved him to be one of the best athletes on Earth. A huge revolutionary due to his classic bouts with Toru Yano, Tomohiro Ishii and most significantly Kazuchika Okada – Omega was one of the co-founders of All Elite Wrestling in 2019.

Becoming the 3rd AEW champion, Omega beat Jon Moxley on the December 2nd, 2020 ‘Winter is Coming’ edition of AEW Dynamite after surprise help by Don Callis. Callis then announced the reason the duo united would be announced the next Tuesday on Impact! Wrestling, signaling an internet-breaking relationship between the sides. Already the AAA champion in Mexico (since October 2019), he now set his sights on the Impact! world title held by Rich Swann.

The stage was set at Rebellion for a double championship match between the two. It seemed as if ‘The Cleaner’ was going to win, considering he was the bigger name and was more promoted on AEW. The option of a screwy finish was still there but would knowingly be reviled by fans. Despite the likelihood of Omega’s win, every near fall left everyone on the edge of their seat however after a final One-Wingéd Angel, it was an inevitable sayonara for Swann’s time as champion. Now a triple champion as the AEW, AAA, and Impact! champion, it does truly feel like Omega’s time, with Kenny on top of the wrestling world.
