Honorable Mention: Raquel Rodriguez

Raquel has had an up and down run on the main roster in her short time. She was heavily featured and even had a couple of matches with Ronda Rousey. Unfortunately, she still hasn’t picked up much momentum. That could all change with a win at the Royal Rumble. This year may not be her year, but look for Raquel to be an early favorite to win the Rumble next year.

Honorable Mention: Ronda Rousey

After winning the Rumble last year, Ronda Rousey could easily be a favorite to win it again. No woman has ever won the Rumble in back to back years, and after the less than stellar year Ronda has had, it is unlikely she will be the first to accomplish this feat. Clearly she will have something to do at WrestleMania, but keeping her out of the title picture would open up possibilities for new stars to take her place.

Honorable Mention: Mandy Rose

If I would have told you a couple years ago that Mandy Rose could not only win the Rumble, but be a threat to either Charlotte Flair or Bianca Belair, you would have called me crazy. However, the times have certainly changed for Mandy. After running the NXT women’s division for well over a year, she could have a major chance to win the Rumble. After being released by WWE a couple of weeks ago, it seems unlikely that Mandy will even be in the Rumble, but don’t be shocked if she rejoins the company, and wins the whole thing.

5. Asuka

The Empress of Tomorrow has been off TV for some time now, but the stars could be aligning for her to return at the Rumble this year. After winning the first ever women’s Royal Rumble, Asuka hasn’t been the same since. However, now that Triple H is in charge we could reasonably see the old NXT version of Asuka, or at least a new version that brings back those same qualities. What better way to display the new Asuka than having her come in the Rumble and run through the competition.

4. Bayley

Bayley made her triumphant return at SummerSlam this past Summer, and has seemingly been all over the place. She brought in Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky to form the new group Damage Control. Kai and Sky found immediate success by winning the women’s tag-team championships, while Bayley still hasn’t picked up a signature win. All of that could change with a win at the Royal Rumble. Bayley has already unsuccessfully faced Bianca Belair several times this year, so if she does win the Rumble, a match with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania could be the change her character needs. Bayley absolutely deserves her moment in the spotlight, and that could very likely happen this year.

3. Naomi

As the biggest surprise entrant of the women’s Rumble, Naomi could come back to WWE and completely change the women’s division. After walking out of Monday Night Raw, along side Sasha Banks, many thought the pair would be making their way back to WWE. Obviously, Mercedes Monè made her shocking debut in NJPW, while Naomi has seemingly been quiet. The chances of Naomi returning at the Rumble are extremely high, and if she does, she could instantly become a fan favorite. Look for Naomi to have a major impact in the women’s Rumble and possibly go all the way to win it.

2. Becky Lynch

If The Man is in the Rumble, she is automatically a threat to win the whole thing. She is one of the faces of the women’s division, and could easily find herself as one of the final few in the ring with a chance to win her second Rumble. The only reason why she isn’t number one on this list is because there is clearly unfinished business between her and Bayley. Even though this feud is building, Becky could still wind up being the last woman standing. While the prospect for Becky to once again go after Bianca Belair at WrestleMania is there, no one can deny that Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair is WrestleMania worthy.

1. Rhea Ripley

While we have talked about several deserving ladies in this article, one stands out among the rest. Rhea Ripley should absolutely win this years Royal Rumble. After joining and retroactively saving Judgement Day, Rhea Ripley has quickly climbed the ranks in the women’s division. No one can deny the prospect of Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania being one of the marquee matches for the whole weekend. Two of the strongest women in the WWE clashing at the grandest stage of them all would easily grab everyone’s attention. Look for Rhea to not only win the Rumble this year, but also break the record for most eliminations in a women’s Royal Rumble match.
