How can you reasonably list down the greatest wrestling heels ever? It is a near-impossible, Herculean task to try to rank all the greatest wrestlers to have played the role of a reviled bad guy. We’ve compiled a list of legends, Hall of Famers and everything else to try to get a somewhat good stab at what true heeldom looks like, as hard to do as that is. So, here is the list of 50 greatest wrestling heels of all time.

50. Lex Luger

Across runs in the NWA, WWF and WCW, Lex Luger has more than proved his worth as a heel despite what negativity fans may have for him today. Likely soured by his failed babyface push in the WWF in 1993-1994, they overlook Luger’s immense body of work as a bad guy.

Luger was originally debuted on a large scale when joining The Four Horsemen. Luger had another great heel run during his spells as United States champion, a significant portion of which he was heel for (during this time he became the longest reigning combined US champion with one reign lasting well over 500 days).

His jump to the WWF saw the short-lived yet well-played role of ‘The Narcissist’ play out as Luger became a preening, vain egomaniac who posed in front of a mirror. In WCW, Luger was commonly a heel with his true intentions often in doubt by friends such as Sting. Luger’s most memorable heel runs in this era include as a member of The Dungeon of Doom, eventually joining the NWO and teaming up with Buff Bagwell.
