Top 50 Greatest Wrestling Heels of all time
47. Kevin Sullivan
What Sullivan may lack in height and stature, he made up for in character work as his dark, satanic gimmick got Kevin the limelight.
When jumping to Florida, he developed his ‘Prince of Darkness’ satanic character and would go on to team with Mark Lewin at Starrcade 1983 (wrestling’s first PPV). He would go on to The Varsity Club alongside top workers and have feuds with some of the biggest names in the NWA. After runs as a heel threat in both SMW and ECW, he joined The Dungeon Of Doom – a camp, cartoonish troupe to take down Hulk Hogan who were silly yet harmless.
Having great showing with everyone from Chris Benoit to Dusty Rhodes, Sullivan has remained a viable heel for many years with his character propelling him to great heights in the JCP, WCW, ECW, SMW and ROH. He also should get credit for his work as a booker, despite also being a wrestler, he never needlessly and selfishy pushed himself to the top but was still successful.
