Ladies & Gentlemen -Welcome to the Weekly Report as fans experience the top prevailing headlines in professional wrestling.

Hello, it’s your WB correspondent/ Tyler Peters.

Our noted team helps decide what makes the top 5 list.

Alright, let’s get to these stories.

1. Randy Orton returning to WWE

PWInsider reported this week that a former WWE Champion is returning in time for WrestleMania.

Randy Orton had suffered a back injury & which kept him away from in-ring action for nearly one year. WWE appears to be scheduling the Viper regarding Mania weekend in LA. The wrestling publication did say Orton might emerge on camera. I find this hard to believe when you have someone like Randy Orton. WWE had internal talks concerning his return brought up. Could the Raw after WrestleMania be tailored to Randy’s return?

2. Roman Reigns possibly takes a significant break after Mania

WrestleVotes shared on Twitter relating it to the WrestleMania Main Event between Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes & whether The Tribal Chief plans on taking time off afterward.

They stated: circa Tuesday, nothing proved finalized (Set in Stone as far as the main event). Also, WrestleVotes communicated to GiveMeSport this week concerning Reigns getting prepped for a significant break from WWE programs. Roman might not return until SummerSlam.

The website said there’s probably a substantial absence, maybe a month or longer. If WWE has one of these headline shows, then everybody sees Reigns? The chances of seeing him at SummerSlam aren’t guaranteed, either.

3. Josh Alexander Out of Action

Impact Wrestling star & champion Josh Alexander suffered a triceps tear injury.

Dave LaGreca of Busted Open Radio broke the unfortunate news on Friday Morning regarding this news. Alexander had to vacate the Impact World Championship because of injury. At Rebellion, A new Champion will materialize.

LaGreca’s official statement on the Impact World Championship situation:

“Impact has informed Busted Open that Josh Alexander is out of action indefinitely. A new World Champion will emerge on April 16th via the Rebellion PPV. The record-setting title run of Josh Alexander is officially over, & that’s unfortunate because he’s been one tremendous champion. He will have to relinquish the Impact Wrestling World Championship due to a triceps tear that will require surgery, IMPACT confirmed. “

4. A CM Punk return update with a punk tweet & delete

CM Punk remains controversial because the man is honest. The Second City Saint doesn’t mince words.

Rumors began spiraling when it seemed Punk & AEW could work things out. That was until a now-deleted Instagram story. Before, insiders thought both Punk & All-Elite Wrestling had mended fences, but they have not, so it appears.

Fightful Select reported the wrestler & promotion had a productive type of progression detailing negotiations recently. His return would suggest quite the turnaround from buying Punk’s contract up.

AEW CEO Tony Khan & CM Punk have conducted a few meetings since the backstage incident at All Out 2022, which resulted in the Elite & Punk being off AEW TV. A report said one person even said Punk wanted to apologize for his media scrum rant.

Punk expressed criticism via his Instagram story by calling Dave Meltzer a liar & Chris Jericho a stooge. Punk blasted his feud with Jon Moxley. The star claimed he was uncleared medically for their AEW World Title Unification Match. Now the post might violate internal AEW guidelines.

5. Goldberg is a free agent now

We have learned from multiple reports that WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg is now a free agent.

Fightful Select has confirmed this as related to his contract expiring at the end of last year (2022). It further stated No agreement between him and WWE reached a deal.

Goldberg last wrestled at Elimination Chamber in February 2022. Roman Reigns defeated the legend to regain his WWE Universal Championship. Other achievements included dominating Brock Lesnar in under two minutes at the 2016 Survivor Series. At Fastlane in 2017, he triumphed over Kevin Owens.

Goldberg spoke to Sports Illustrated last month & said that he still had one more match left in him. “ You never say never, especially in wrestling, and they owe me one. “ The Wrestling legend mentioned Israel as a possible location for his last match.
