1. Is CM Punk returning to AEW sooner than later?

He remains one of professional wrestling’s more controversial figures. CM Punk never wavers from speaking honestly toward others who criticize him! We saw this play out during his time with WWE. Punk’s WWE relationship was fractured & later, the former Champion departed. His famed pipe bomb promo and rise to the top helped inspire fans that agreed with such rhetoric.

AEW seemed logical for Punk. Wrestling fans desired an alternative personality that challenged cooperate structures. Why not sign “ The Second City Saint! “ Tony Khan listened to the people & Punk was All-Elite.

Things appeared cohesive until the AEW All Out Media post-media scrum in Chicago ( Punk’s hometown). He called out AEW stars Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, & The Young Bucks in front of boss Tony Khan. Personal Issues arose between members of The Elite & Punk. His scornful remarks made headlines. For pundits, it hurt Punk’s reputation. A backstage fight had occurred backstage, which involved Punk against wrestlers he criticized. Afterward, AEW suspended all parties, leaving Punk off their TV, yet still contracted by All Elite Wrestling. The Elite has since come back on television. Punk also dealt with an injury. Currently, reports indicate that he’s recovering.

Rumors persist about CM Punk possibly returning to AEW.

Dave Meltzer discussed Punk’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer inquired concerning Punk’s future. He claims CM Punk could be back within the next few months.

“ They are lacking in that baby face position something fierce. They had a shot with MJF & did the double-cross on that. MJF was great as a heel tonight, but AEW doesn’t have “ the guy! “ He continued regarding Punk’s not the guy either. Meltzer believes CM Punk might return.

Khan hasn’t released him from his contract.

2. Toxic Attraction No More

Mandy Rose’s firing presented NXT with a chance to break up Toxic Attraction. Jacey Jayne & Gi Gi Dolan did their best without Mandy’s leadership. It became glaring that Rose was intricate to that noticeable trio. Both ladies created a unique duo. They held the NXT Tag Team Titles successfully for a while alongside former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose. Momentum was in their favor.

It all changed on Tuesday, February 7th, edition of NXT. Bayley returned home to host a segment titled “ Ding Dong Hello” with guests Jayne & Dolan. Jacey embraced Gigi & then betrayed her by super-kicking Dolan & kicking her head into the set door. A similar scene features Shawn Michaels turning on his tag team partner Marty Jannetty during the Barber Shop segment from years past.

Now, Dolan & Jayne can be viable single competitors again.

3. Lita Returns ( Damage Control versus Becky, Lita, & Trish Stratus at EC in Montreal.

If you tuned into Monday, February 6th episode of Raw, WWE Hall of Famer & former Women’s Champion Lita surprised audiences by appearing & helping Becky Lynch defeat Bayley in their Steel Cage encounter where each lady’s career began via Orlando, Florida. Dakota Kai nor Iyo Sky could withstand Lita’s attack.

Speculation is Trish Stratus will be on this week’s Raw & Becky, Lita, & Trish should face Damage Control at Elimination Chamber. Remember an earlier Raw emanated from Toronto & Damage Control exchanged words then. I’m excited myself about this probable matchup.

4. New AEW Tag Team Champions

Some fans voiced displeasure over The Acclaimed ( Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) losing the AEW Tag Team Championships on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

These young men resonate with crowds. Bowens & Caster bring an infectious charisma every time both compete. The team having a Hall of Famer & former Tag Team Champion in Billy Gunn has provided another captivating dimension. Billy mentors them like his family.

Pro-wrestling thrives on Family drama. Austin & Colten Gunn continually impress fans by utilizing villainous tactics for a strategic advantage. I don’t mean just in-ring. Psychology-based combat amid that Father & son dynamic. It’s how the brothers handle themselves. Both seem envious of (Dad) Billy’s relationship with The Acclaimed. What an underrated hence compelling story AEW possesses here.

Let’s revisit Wednesday, Feb. 8th, AEW Dynamite on TNT. Our Tag Team Championship main event was The Acclaimed defending against The Gunn Club. Bowens accidentally hits the referee. Austin grabbed one of the belts to nail Bowens until Billy came out & into the ring. Dad tried reasoning with his son to stop him. Austin about hits Billy with that title. He stops him, Colten, from behind and clocks his father with the other belt. The Acclaimed battled back. Colton Gunn struck Bowens via the title. Austin pins him! New Tag Team Champs-The Gunn Club.

5. Deonna Purrazzo is staying with Impact for one more year

Deonna Purrazzo is to remain with Impact wrestling for one more year.

The two-time Impact Knockouts Champion & one-time Ring of Honor Women’s Champion will stay under contract through 2023.

Purrazzo reenergized her career after wrestling for NXT. She dominated both ROH & Impact. This talented star debuted in 2020 for Impact. Deonna won the Knockouts Championship before signing with the company. Sapp reported that her contract was supposed to expire in 2022, but the terms changed in 2021 & which gave Impact the option to further the deal.
