3. Petey Williams
Since returning to Impact Wrestling at Hardcore Justice, Petey Williams has truly shown that he has not missed a beat. Petey is an X Division pioneer from when the division was built and someone who many wrestlers today sight as an inspiration (The Canadian Destroyer after all is used everywhere now). Since he debuted in 2003 he took the division by storm and even today it’s like watching a young Petey.
Petey has held the X Division title twice with his last reign came back in 2008 (over a decade ago). However both of Petey Williams title reigns lasted a significant amount of time and felt important in the record books (the same that Josh’s title reign does). With Josh and Petey having that Canadian connection, as well as having a friendship connection, there’s always the chance that we can see a “pass the torch” kind of match between them?
