When you look at Impact Wrestling it feels like the top of the card for the world title has been going through a bit of a shake up. Recently, we have Kenny Omega as the champion currently. We still have Sami Callihan and Moose in the picture (to a point) however with some of the other faces in Impact on the roster currently, the future may be in for a real freshen up in the future.

With talent who has recently turned up to the company or talent who Impact have had for a while and been nurturing to be a future face at the top of the card, there’s a lot for us as fans to look forward to with how the roster is stacking up. Let’s have a look at some wrestlers who lets say by next Slammiversary could be at the top of the card (who have not been there before).

5. Jake Something

Since coming into the company Jake was primarily a tag wrestler with The Deaners. This really helped bring the character out of him, however in time it was time for Jake to become something and roll solo.

Since The Deaners split and we’ve seen Jake walk on his own, he’s been a little up and down with his match results however it’s through no fault of effort. The man has all the tools to become that monster that Impact have been searching for ever since Abyss left (they call his finisher the black hole slam after all).

While I feel Jake still needs more time before he reaches the top of the card, he is definitely someone I can see as the face of the company one day. A lot can change in a year and many can vastly improve in time so who knows where we may see Jake in a years time?

  1. If W. Morrissey signs a new deal after Bound For Glory & Josh Alexander does the same next February/March. These two are going to be locking horns for that number one contendership spot OR to be the next Impact Wrestling World Champion.

Jake Something vs. Brian Myers is a recurring rivalry that would set up a fantastic storied World Champion storyline could even match Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe or EC3 & Matt Hardy (ducking incoming chair shots) with Myers & Something.
