Wrestlebuddy has learned about a classic wrestling finisher that appears to be banned. It would prohibit wrestlers from using it.
Pro-Wrestlers who made this move famous were WWE Hall of Famers Undertaker & Kane & Fans & viewers likely won’t see this signature maneuver again. Current WWE star Ronda Rousey confirmed the news via her Baddest Stream on the Planet YouTube show! She remarked,
“ The Tombstone Piledriver is such a dangerous move, nobody else is allowed to do it. It’s basically a retired move. “
Mostly WWE stopped their talent in executing piledrivers over the years with a few exceptions, including The Undertaker. His iconic Tombstone Piledriver fit the popular gimmick.
In 2000 the company officially blocked any variations concerning the Piledriver! Several wrestlers have suffered injuries because of it & one such superstar was Stone Cold Steve Austin circa 1997 at SummerSlam when Owen Hart dropped “ The Texas Rattlesnake “ on his head and broke Austin’s neck.
I can see both sides of this argument, but wrestlers’ safety first is always more important.
