WWE Smackdown Results (02nd June 2021) – Edge destroys Jimmy Uso!!
Edge kicks off the show and came down to the ring and says WrestleMania was supposed to be the culmination of a 10-year story. Edge said he envisioned it so much that he knew it would happen. But then it didn’t. Edge didn’t see that coming. Roman Reigns likes to gloss over so many key facts. Bryan stops Edge from winning multiple times at WrestleMania. Edge has to understand that there are going to be challenges and obstacles but he won’t stop. He’ll never stop. After being in the ring with Reigns, Edge knows he can beat him. Reigns knows it too. Edge shows an image from Mania where he had Reigns in the crossface. Edge says you can see the fear in Reigns eyes. Edge says he’s the guy who’s got Reigns’ number. Edge is inevitable. Edge is going to be the Universal Champion.
Backstage, Jimmy Uso tells Paul Heyman that he’s got Reigns back just like Reigns’ has his back. Heyman just glares at Jimmy. Jimmy says when Reigns get here tonight they are going to ride on Edge.
During a backstage segment, Baron Corbin says he’s lost hundreds of thousands of dollars on investments.
Big E and Shinsuke Nakamura w/Rick Boogs Vs. Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin
Corbin looks terrible. His beard is all messed up and he needs to have his head shaved. Crews and Nakamura start off the match. Crews floors Nakamura and yells at Corbin to focus. Nakamura sends Crews into the corner. Running knee by Nakamura. Big E and Nakamura give Crews good vibrations while Boogs plays a riff. After the break, Corbin and Crews work over Big E. Boogs announces that someone’s care is being towed backstage. It’s Corbin’s car. Corbin is despondent. Big E hits the Big Ending on Corbin for the win.

Bayley came down to the ring and gloats about pinning Bianca Belair last week. Bayley says Belair isn’t mentally strong enough to be champion. Belair interrupts. Belair says Bayley needs a crack in the mouth. Belair says Bayley is obsessed with her. Belair says Bayley is in her head. No matter how many times Belair beats Bayley she’s wont stop. The only way for Belair to be done with Bayley is to embarrass her to the point of no return. Belair says she will put her title on the line at Money in the Bank in an I Quit Match. Bayley laughs it off.
Bayley exclaims she never quits at anything in life. Bayley says if Belair made her quit, she’s probably quit WWE. Bayley says Belair has no chance of winning this match, so she accepts. Belair laughs in Bayley’s face. Bayley asks Belair what’s so funny. Belair says she just realized how excited she is to hear Bayley say “I quit”.
Backstage, Jimmy tells Heyman that Reigns must be waiting on him to show up. Jimmy is going to call out Edge at the end of the night. Heyman smiles. Jimmy walks off.
Kevin Owens Vs. Sami Zayn – Last Man Standing MITB Qualifying Match
Owens works over Zayn. Owens sends Zayn into the ring post. Owens tells Zayn to stay down. Zayn gets up at 7 seven. Owens brings two tables out from under the ring. Owens tries to superplex Zayn through the two tables but Zayn fights out of it. Zayn lands a dive.
Owens reverses Zayn’s superplex into a cradle bomb off the top rope. Both Owens and Zayn manage to break the count. Zayn sends Owens through both tables. Owens gets to his feet at the nine count. Zayn sets up a table outside the ring. Zayn half-nelson suplexes Owens on the apron. Owens somehow manages to get to his feet. Zayn lands the Helluva Kick. Zayn yells at Owens to stay down. Owens gets to his feet. Zayn hits another Helluva Kick. Zayn holds Owens up and tells him this is Karma.
Zayn hits another Helluva Kick. Owens rolls out of the ring and lands on his feet as the referee counts to nine. Zayn yells at the referee. Zayn tries his diving DDT but Owens superkicks him. Owens hits a popup powerbomb. Zayn gets to his feet. Owens hits the Stunner. Zayn rolls out of the ring. Owens powerbomb Zayn through the announce desk. Owens picks up Zayn and powerbombs him through the table Zayn set up next to the ring. Owens immediately picks up Zayn again and hits a powerbomb on the apron. Zayn can’t beat the 10 count.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Deville announces Zelina Vega as the next competitor for this year’s Women’s Money in the Bank. Vega tells Deville she knows it was her pleasure to announce Vega’s return. Liv Morgan interrupts and whines about Vega being in the match. Vega says she can run circles around Morgan. Morgan slaps Vega. Morgan begs for a match and gets it for some reason.
Liv Morgan vs. Zelina Vega
The match started during the break. Vega chokes Morgan in the ropes. Vega surprises Morgan with a flying clothesline. Morgan kicks out. Vega rolls up Morgan with a handful of tights. The referee sees it. As Vega argues with the referee, Morgan reverses the roll up with one of her own. Morgan has a handful of tights but the referee doesn’t see it. Morgan gets the three count.

Backstage, Seth Rollins yells at Adam Pearce and Deville for giving Edge a title shot against Reigns at MITB. Deville tells Rollins he’ll get his chance at a title shot if he beats Cesaro next week in a MITB qualifying match. Rollins just laughs and walks away.
Otis w/Chad Gable vs. Angelo Dawkins
Otis tosses Dawkins all over the ring. Otis hits a top rope splash followed by a Vader Bomb for the win.

Backstage, Heyman tells Jimmy that Reigns operates on his own time. All Jimmy needs to do is go out to the ring and be main event Jimmy Uso. Jimmy says he will.
Jimmy Uso came down to the ring and says Reigns isn’t here and he doesn’t need him. Jimmy can handle Edge all by himself. Edge isn’t man enough to face him. This isn’t a trap, this is just him, alone, calling out Edge. Edge’s music hits. Edge walks out on the ramp and tells Jimmy that Reigns is using him. Reigns is using him just like he did Jey. Now Jimmy is just one of Reigns bitches.
Edge says Reigns laid the perfect trap but the trap wasn’t for him, it was a trap for Jimmy. Jimmy looks around as if he’s expecting Reigns to show up. he doesn’t. Edge sends Jimmy into the ring post twice. Jimmy catches Edge with a kick to the gut. Jimmy lands a few punches. Jimmy runs into a boot by Edge. Edge rains down rights and lefts. Edge puts Jimmy in the crossface. Jimmy taps. Edge Spears Jimmy. Edge breaks a metal chair and rips off one of the legs. Edge puts the chair leg in Jimmy’s mouth and cranks back on it in the crossface, just like he did to Reigns at WrestleMania!
