Won by CM Punk, this match’s result whilst not a terrible one did go to prove the stipulation’s failed bout last year as the same winner had to try and have a second shot to salvage a main event run.

Consisting of Punk, Kane, Christian, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, Finlay, MVO and Shelton Benjamin – it did have some big spots. Hornswoggle hit a Tadpole Splash, ‘The Gold Standard’ nearly plummeted on his head on the outside from a ladder spot where nobody caught him and Kingston near won by running up a vertical ladder.

A fine match, it did feel somewhat lacking. Once again the win was good for Punk but seeing the same person have to win multiple times was a little deflating and only served to show how the concept is not always a sure-starmaker.
