3. Asuka vs Nikki Bella
Asuka and Nikki Bella were the final two in the 2018 Royal Rumble and despite the obvious chemistry, the two had we have never gotten a follow-up to this. Asuka is still one of the greatest wrestlers in the world and her undefeated streak was legendary, it shouldn’t have been broken at WrestleMania but that is a conversation for a different time. The point is there are so many ways this story could go and with Nikki Bella returning at this year’s Royal Rumble, could this match finally happen in 2022?
Let’s see the longest reigning Divas Champion face off against The Empress of Tomorrow, a woman with an unmatched undefeated streak and who never lost her NXT Women’s Championship. This is always a good premise for a storyline, with so much that can be pulled from. We also have the jealousy of Asuka eliminating Nikki to win the Rumble, denying her another chance to make history. We have the way she was eliminated, with Asuka using Bella’s weak point, her neck, to get her onto the apron. We all know that Nikki Bella can go inside of a ring, she walked Ronda Rousey through her first good match, so imagine the magic that could be made with an opponent like Asuka.
2. Lita vs Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch eliminated Lita from the 2018 Royal Rumble, yet these two women haven’t had a one-on-one bout since. Lita has returned to SmackDown determined to win the Royal Rumble this year and if she does, why go after Charlotte Flair when Becky Lynch is currently available at the Show of Shows. Lita wants to make history and get the opportunity’s she was never afforded during the late 90s, early 00s wrestling boom, and who better to do this with than Big Time Becks.
Becky Lynch has been very open about how Lita inspired her, not just wrestling-wise but also in her own personal style as a teen. The two redheads who made a name for themselves inside an industry that is dominated by men could be allies or foes, but either way, if Lita is here to stay in WWE, give the fans what they want. 1. Sasha Banks vs Trish Stratus
These two women are possibly the best of their generations. Inside the Rumble match, Trish mocked The Boss before being eliminated by Banks. This is a match four years in the making, we haven’t seen it yet and we need it. Two of the best in-ring workers with loads of natural chemistry isn’t it about time the WWE Universe got the match we want.
And it’s not just us as fans who want this, Sasha Banks has openly spoken about her desire to face a woman who inspired her. Let the feud build with promos and don’t have them touch inside of a ring, in a match until their big match, maybe at this year’s WrestleMania. Sasha Banks likes to create big moments and make history and this match would tick both boxes.
