It’s really a high time for WWE to bring back the role of authority figures like General Managers or Commissioners. Yes, there are some fans who may not agree with me but I feel that majority of the fans will say yes for bringing back the GMs of RAW & Smackdown.

There are many iconic GMs in the history of WWE like Eric Bischoff, Theodore Long, Paul Heyman & Stephanie McMahon. GMs makes the show more interesting and give proper direction to the continuity of the show.

The last authority figure we remember is Baron Corbin & Shane McMahon back in 2019, but the roles of this figures were scrapped suddenly. Since then, there are no General Managers or Commissioners on both the shows.

Today we will tell you 04 Major Reasons Why WWE should bring back General Managers.

4. Brand Warfare

As we all remember back in 2016, when WWE promoted Survivor Series as a Brand Warfare. Believe it or not, it gave us the nostalgic feeling of RAW Vs. Smackdown of the Ruthless Aggression Era. But then again, this brand warfare just became a gimmick for Survivor Series.

WWE needs to bring back the brand warfare between RAW & Smackdown like it was back in the Ruthless Aggression Era and even at the initial days of PG Era. To increase the interest for this war WWE needs the General Manager for both the brand.

For example, back in 2002 when Triple H became the undisputed champion and later the title unified into one Championship which Brock Lesnar won later from The Rock at SummerSlam. Stephanie McMahon who was then the GM of Smackdown snatches Brock Lesnar from Eric Biscoff who was then the GM of RAW, which leaves RAW without a top title and later Biscoff introduced the World Heavyweight Championship and awarded to Triple H.

What we learn from this above example is GM can compete with each other and give offers to the WWE Superstars to join their brand and degrade the face value of the competition and this creates the Brand Warfare between both the shows, which nowadays is just a one-month gimmick war till Survivor Series and it will create interest between fans as well.

3. Storyline Continuity Error

WWE has been criticized for years because of their storylines and we can remember several storylines which either ended abruptly or some matches got changed with no explanation. WWE needs to repair the error of storyline continuity and bringing back the GMs are the best option to at least end the storyline or replace someone from some match with explanation.

Just take an example of the storyline between Nia Jax and Pat Buck. Pat Buck apparently had the ability to suspend Nia without pay until she apologized. However, we as an audience have no idea who Pat Buck really is and what role he has to play on Raw. Why does he get the ability to suspend wrestlers without pay and how come he only chose to use his authority in that one instance?

Another example is when Bayley and Sasha essentially stole the Raw Women’s Title from Asuka, Stephanie McMahon appeared out of nowhere in the titantron the next day to set things straight and set up a rematch between Sasha and Asuka. But other times in the women’s division, underhanded tactics have transpired without any interference from any authority figure.

What we learn from the above examples are if GM is there in both the shows so at least they can give some explanation of what is happening between the WWE superstars or backstage. WWE should learn this from NXT.

William Regal is the GM of NXT since it’s inception. However, he doesn’t appear every single week. But, when there’s a need of clarity about any replacement or any rivalry is going way too far. He does appear and sets awesome matches and gave the storyline proper continuity, which helps NXT to develop better storylines for each NXT star, not like RAW & Smackdown where no one are having a proper feud except the top stars (which also ended abruptly sometimes.

2. WWE Draft

WWE Draft are one of the most interesting things WWE ever introduced where any wrestlers drafted to any brand during the WWE Draft night. We all remember when WWE have matches between both the brands to decide who will get a draft pick. But, this concept become a very lame concept since 2019, when Stephanie McMahon came to stage and just announce the names of the wrestlers and there’s no hype or interest between fans and in social media WWE got criticized for this as well.

If a GM is there during WWE Draft, it automatically creates a hype between both brands like we noted in the first major reasons which was Brand Warfare. Take an example of WWE Draft 2004, when Paul Heyman who then was the GM of Smackdown and he got drafted to RAW and he chose to quit instead of working under Eric Bischoff who was then the GM of RAW.

What we learn from the above example is, if a GM is there, he can make WWE Draft interesting to watch and we can see a brand warfare on that night as well. Not like some McMahon will come and just announce random names during WWE Draft.

1. Predictable shows

What WWE do these days is that they announce most of the matches before the show through their social media handle, which kills the hype of the show. If a GM is there, he/she can make matches after the show started during the opening segment. So, it will create a good hype and more people will come to watch and it will help in the ratings as well.

For example, WWE advertised several matches as a preview of the show, from which today’s fans understand that what they’re getting in the show and it makes the show quite predictable. Remember the days when the show starts with a promo and then the GM interrupted the wrestlers and announce matches.

This is another major reason to bring back GM to make the show more unpredictable and it will definitely help the ratings as well.

ADAM Pearce is not a GM!!!

The main reason of writing this article is to tell you all that ADAM PEARCE is not a General Manager and WWE should stop showing him as authority figure. Adam Pearce is so random that sometimes he becomes a postman for Vince McMahon, sometimes he appears in NXT and interferes in a match, sometimes he is a wrestler. I really don’t know that why WWE booked Pearce so random.

Thanks for reading!!! Let us know your thoughts on the same in the comments section below.
