1. The X Division Always Delivers
Impact Wrestling’s identity has always been the X Division. Back when the company debuted in 2002 the X Division is what made them stand out from the crowed (back then there was nothing like this style around). No matter what troubles the company has gone through the X Division has always seemed to remain in a pretty strong position.
Even if there were a few years where the X Division did take a back seat due to the booking, the matches themselves would very often still be the match that would steal the show (whether that be on Impact or PPV). This no limit style is open to anything and anyone and because of that you really need to have your eyes on a swivel, that was certainly the case at Bound For Glory during this triple threat match.
We had 3 fantastic talents in Trey Miguel, Steve Maclin and El Phantasmo who all left everything in the ring and put on a wrestling clinic. Even Maclin who hasn’t showed me that X Division no limits style, really turned it up a notch and showed he can do it. ELP and Trey played can you top this with various unique offences and we finally saw the story of Trey Miguel pay off. This shows the X Division is still the heart and soul of Impact, it always delivers and it’s still the belt that so many wrestlers who were fans of the product growing up really want to hold. You saw that genuine emotion in Trey when he won it and that’s what dreams are.
Issues with Braun Strowman were down to negotiations still ongoing. I think we will see him, I’m hoping, given the news w/ ROH & his history working with EC3 already growing rapidly, we see both of them incoming before EC3 is let go in December, the two of them standing up to The Good Brothers would be an instant classic 👍
