5 Takeaways from AEW Dynamite (June 11th 2021)
What are 5 talking points of AEW Dynamite?
Dark Order’s Largening Prominence
During mid-late 2020, Dark Order was one of the larger stables in AEW with the group being buoyed by the dominance of leader and one-point TNT champion Brodie Lee. The faction was seemingly thrown into chaos when ‘The Exalted One’ passed away in December although they dominated the Brodie Lee Tribute Show.
When Darby Allin won the TNT title, he let his open challenge be to the group as he was challenged by Pres10 Vance and John Silver. After that, they were seemingly mostly used as justice fighting warriors who aided in a multiple man scuffle. However, this week they likely got the 2 biggest matches on the card – both main-eventing the show and getting a title match.
In the 3rd match of the card, Evil Uno challenged for the TNT title in a match announced last week, meaning the group had the opportunity to add some gold to the group for the first time since late 2020. Uno came up short in his challenge for the belt however, eventually making the Dark Order member tap out to his Game Over submission finisher. In the main event, Dark Order satellite member ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and 10 (Pres10 Vance) managed to defeat Team Taz after dissension in the group meant Brian Cage left Will Hobbs high and dry.
Both these high-profile bouts perhaps indicate a brighter, more prominent future for the stable in All Elite Wrestling.
