7 Former Impact Stars to return by Slammiversary 2021?
- Impact Wrestling’s build to the big 20. Part 1 - February 25, 2022

Alex Shelley (2004 – 2012, 2020)
The Motor City Machineguns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) returned Slammiversary 2020, beating The Rascalz (Desmond Xavier/Zachary Wentz now known as MSK members Wes Lee/Nash Carter on NXT) on the night answering an open Challenge in an extremely competitive match, showing that this return was going to lead onto bigger things for the MCMG. They would then beat The North (who had defended their titles against Sami Callihan & Ken Shamrock) on the following Impact. With a show stealing 4 way tag team match coming for Bound For Glory, Sabin would end up losing the titles to The North at Bound For Glory after Alex Shelley was attacked backstage. Come Hard To Kill 2021 Shelley made the decision to step away from wrestling for personal reasons, still with the hope to return in the near future.
While Ace Austin & Madman Fulton are my choice of Tag Team to dethrone Fin Juice (or the Good Brothers if they jump the queue after Under Siege, we all know Don Callis has a plan B, C or D) for the Tag Titles in 2021 before or at Slammiversary & assuming Chris Sabin is still there, Motor City Machine Guns vs. Austin & Fulton would lead to a highly competitive & fantastic showcase for the current AAW Tag Team Champions (Austin & Fulton) who had an impressive run, beginning their work as a team on Impact Wrestling, overshadowed by The Good Brothers‘ domination as 2020 came to a close.
For the last two, all I can really offer is what I believe will happen should they return, frustratingly for me when I started watching TNA/Impact both were finishing their time with the company.
Before we conclude, here’s a short list of 7 other Former Impact talents that are on my personal wish list, it just seems extremely unlikely.
-Kylie Rae
-Jake Crist
-Andrew Everett
-Sienna & Marti Belle (as a tag team)
-Michael Elgin
Assuming more development comes from AEW & Impact.
-Jon Moxley
-The Young Bucks (either to assist or take down The Good Brothers or for a big showcase match vs. the Motor City Machineguns)
