Mickie James (2002-03, 2010-2013, 2015)
Making frequent appearances on TNA in the past with a high degree of success, Mickie James has remained a fan favourite, especially after returning in 2010. So when the announcement of her release from the WWE was announced (alongside the controversial disrespect shown, but I won’t go into that), Impact fans are very keen to see her return.
When it comes to what she can offer, all I sadly see is another stepping stone & wrestling legend for Deonna Purrazo to bulldoze through, as she has been doing all year causing retirements for Taya Valkyrie, Jazz & ODB, as well as recently beating Havok at Under Siege. A return to Impact from Mickie James would add some short lived star power to the Knockouts division, similar to Gail Kim returning to face Tessa Blanchard at Rebellion 2019.
A short lived return from Mickie James isn’t “a wasted opportunity”, she has pushed for more expansion of Women’s Wrestling, to make a more widely available platform to showcase the wide variety of unknown talent, Rumours are floating this was pitched to the WWE & rejected, Impact Wrestling has been the cornerstone of the “Women’s Revolution”, fans are calling for the return of Knockouts Knockdown, if Anthem could (and they have the money to do it) Mickie James being hired to work behind the scenes at Impact could make this a reality.
