Eric Bischoff is quite a familiar face for the WWE fans as the general manager of RAW. Bischoff joined TNA between 2010 – 2014 with his old WCW friend Hulk Hogan. Bischoff was working backstage & on screen character alongside with Hulk Hogan.

During the latest episode of 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff revealed that he & Hogan thought that AJ Styles was one of the best homegrown star of TNA, but he was lacking something in his character.

“Hulk and I felt, AJ, as fantastic as he was, was recognized as what a special athlete he was, but we collectively felt AJ was lacking in character. He was doing that homegrown talent, TNA thing for a long time, and he just wasn’t emerging or growing as a character in our opinion.”

Thanks to Wrestling Inc for the quotes.

Bischoff also said that it’s their personal opinion. Styles was a part of the faction ‘FORTUNE’ back in time with Ric Flair. Later, Styles also left the company and went onto make his name all over the world.

Currently, Styles is one of the top superstars of WWE.
