Experiencing WWE SummerSlam in Nashville

I’ll never forget this date; July 30th, 2022. Thanks to my family for purchasing the tickets & allowing me to attend.

Here, I am preparing to walk into one of the greatest spectacles in professional wrestling called WWE SummerSlam. My adrenaline was pumping massively & comparing it to numerous wrestling fans, notably WWE supporters! Before making this walk across the bridge, Nissan Stadium quickly emerged & featured the official banner with Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar on it. While promenading onto this impressive bridge, smaller banners highlighted various matches on the card that night. By stepping closer to our destination, the reality was we had arrived! Seas of humanity lined up to enter “ The Biggest Party of the Summer. “ Thousands upon thousands gathered to celebrate these astonishing wrestlers! 

Fans filled up the Tennessee Titans’ home base anticipating a momentous evening concerning WWE & its stars. Trust me when I share my impressions of SummerSlam & one would be in complete agreement with those reactions. We traveled onto the hallowed ground for a sports-entertainment colossal event that resonated with us all. What an atmosphere inside & let’s be descriptive. Before it began, the crowd proceeded to party! A DJ named Valentino Khan had everyone inspired by cracking out some charged hit music combining WWE themes. As Gorilla Monsoon would preface, its pandemonium & Nashville was electric. 

Upon watching the opening video promo, as everyone views at home. “ Then, “ Now, “ & “ Forever! “ The difference was seen on the big screens within the stadium. Hearing the official anthem for SummerSlam, “ Shakedown “ by Kid Rock ft Robert James, motivated the crowd. Fans got loud & I was as well. 

Hearing the music with the entrances regarding these stars is incredible.

Raw Women’s Championship: (C) Bianca Belair versus Becky Lynch:

Viewing “ Big Time Becks “ Becky Lynch’s walkout live & that exceptional reception. You can start to appreciate these joyful feelings by respecting WWE athletes.

Bianca Belair is “ The EST of WWE for a reason. The same when referencing Belair, I was starstruck. Her whipping that ponytail & strutting down toward the ring, wow. TV doesn’t do these ladies justice. A Great opening match & I enjoyed the Raw Women’s Championship between Bianca Belair versus Becky Lynch.

Bayley returning shocked us each. Dakota Kai & IYO Sky appearing just made her return feel bigger & you can be happily surprised. That visual of Bayley, Kai, & Sky confronting Bianca afterward was unreal. Becky stood side-by-side with the Raw Women’s Champion to even up the odds. How appropriate that the Man came around in Nashville. I got chills currently writing about it.

Logan Paul versus The Miz

The A-Lister Miz took on famed social media influencer Logan Paul as Hollywood came to “ The Music City! “ Accompanied by his beautiful wife Maryse from Miz & Mrs. fame on the USA network. NXT standard-bearer & current Raw star Ciampa also was with the power couple. AJ Styles came out to assist Paul by brawling with Ciampa. Another memorable & impressive match. 

United States Championship Match: (C) Bobby Lashley versus Theory

Bobby Lashley & Theory looked like two individuals created by Greek Mythology. What imposing physiques these gentlemen had. One represents the future and is the 2022 Money in the Bank winner! Lashley has possessed a WWE Championship & similar to several other legendary wrestlers’ and secured his legacy by capturing the prestigious United States Championship. This match should be summarized using one word, Almighty! 

The Mysterio’s versus The Judgement Day

I grew up watching Rey Mysterio wrestling on WCW Monday Nitro during the mid-90s. He was a legend then, in my eyes, and currently an obvious Hall-of-Famer. He inspires me because the height wasn’t on his side either. Dominik Mysterio impresses certainly, a second-generation superstar. He was born into an iconic wrestling family when mentioning his father. Finn Balor, Damien Priest, & Rhea Ripley are sports entertainment’s present & future! The innovative offense showed by every wrestler here. The Prince & Priest opposed both Rey & Dominik in a fabulous contest.

Witnessing the long-awaited return of “ The Rated R Superstar Edge” left the audience stunned & that entrance was extraordinary. Edge cleared the ring of The Judgment Day! It gave me Brood feels, Attitude Era WWE stuff there. 

Pat McAfee versus Happy Corbin

Pat McAfee is God’s gift to wrestling commentary alongside Michael Cole on Friday night’s Smackdown & also for premium live events. He is magnificently talented overall. His wrestling it’s unbelievable, those athletic moves of the former NFL punter. Happy Corbin deserves so much credit for causing emotional reactions from fans. He understands that process & Corbin’s promos establish immediate disdain for him. Happy brought it & so did Pat, guess what, people go home entertained. Similar to Logan Paul & The Miz, both matches delivered entertaining results. 

Drew McIntyre’s appearance was great. The Scottish Warrior held up Angela his sword & greeted everybody. I endorse Drew & he possesses the look along with the skills. I don’t mean to sound redundant, but hearing his theme music comprising those Celtic elements was neat & Becky Lynch’s music incorporates classic & contemporary Irish & Drew’s applies to Scottish music.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: (C) The USOs versus The Street Profits

These teams have fantastic matches every time they face each other. Jimmy & Jey USO can wrestle anybody & be a top team. Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins keep proving to the fans why “ We Want The Smoke! “ The Bloodline has remained unstoppable in WWE. “ We The Ones “ are number 1 because of dominance. Much respect goes to The Street Profits creative inventors are Ford & Dawkins. A dynamic combination of power & ariel offense. Jimmy & Jey consistently bring it. Having Hall-of-Famer Double J-Jeff Jarrett guest refereeing the match, wrestling emanating from Nashville. Adding Jarret made sense & the nostalgic side of me loved everything about this match. 

Riddle comes out of nowhere and calls Seth “ Freakin “ Rollins out. The Orginal Bro said Randy Orton would be proud. Here comes Rollins, and they brawl. Seth stomps Riddle again.

WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship Match: (C)Liv Morgan versus “ Rowdy “ Ronda Rousey

Suddenly, Joan Jett’s song Bad Reputation plays, and Ronda Rousey looks intense as ever walking down the aisle. My impression is observing a UFC Women’s Champion, MMA & Olympic Judo star. Since arriving and reappearing in WWE, Rousey held the Raw Women’s Title & SmackDown Women’s Title. Liv Morgan is likable because she makes one believe Liv’s underdog story. If you ever learn about her story correlated with Morgan’s WWE journey. Ronda was hitting & wrestling stiff. The Champion endured intense punishment. Respect the two immensely. My kind of match spotlighting these ladies.’

Last Man Standing Match-Undisputed WWE Universal Championship (C) Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar

Two of WWE’s greatest modern-day stars collide for what appears to be one final time. Brock defined the early 2000s WWE era & beyond & it entails his UFC accomplishments that “ The Beast “ achieved before re-emerging as Cowboy Brock. Roman Reigns, since returning from battling cancer & came back as the Roman he should have been. The Tribal Chief & Head of the Table found an ally with Paul Heyman. The Bloodline consists of the Tag Team Champions & the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Reigns. Lesnar’s former advocate now turned Wise Man for Reigns. Lesnar & Roman’s intense feud predated Cowboy Brock & Tribal Chief Roman and would soon continue for the next generation to witness. It only intensified & was made more personal. 

Would Lesnar defeat Roman at Nissan Stadium in Nashville for SummerSlam? It was not any ordinary matchup & it was a fight for survival. Brock utilizes a Tractor to by lifting the ring, causing Roman to fall backward & slide out was something I thought would never be seen or done in all of my years of watching wrestling! These men beat each other up. What a Brutal affair, Theory tried cashing in his Money in the Bank opportunity, and The Usos intervened & Paul Heyman was F5ed by Brock through the announce table. Another surreal moment. One of the best last-man-standing matches I’ve seen. A masterpiece of Brutality. Brock & Roman, the WWE Universe respects & appreciates your efforts.

Let me share my closing remarks. It was so exciting to experience WWE SummerSlam 2022 in “ The Music City! “ What an incredible night!
