A pro-wrestling icon is to walk that aisle one-final time this final weekend of July! It’s an unprecedented conclusion regarding one historic career. Pundits disputed whether the 73-year-old Ric Flair should risk stepping inside a wrestling ring again, especially since Flair’s health scares more recently. Noted friends who dealt with The Naitch had communicated their doubts. Respectfully wrestling superstars questioned Ric’s motivation for agreeing and allowing himself to face possible danger. Miscellaneous individuals following “ The Nature Boy” wondered, why is Flair wrestling? He collected sixteen World Heavyweight Championships during his impressive history.

The Nature Boy Ric Flair

For a man who suffered from heart problems back in 2017, fast-forward to July 30th, 2022, this same person will do the inconceivable in Nashville on Sunday at the Municipal Auditorium. Observers remain skeptical of Flair headlining & yet being able to perform now. Mixed reactions started when it was made official. Specific fans shared legitimate concerns while others applauded it.

Enthusiasts of the genre wished Flair would have finished up that classic run after losing to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV. The match was fantastic as both wrestlers’ psychological stories dazzled audiences everywhere. Ric last wrestled famed opponent Sting in TNA circa 2012. I think folks challenged that notion of “ The Dirtiest Player In The Game, “ realistically competing inside those ropes.

Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania

Here is someone portrayed as desperate for attention. Hey, Ric doesn’t understand when it comes time to hang up his wrestling boots! Flair enjoyed having a good time & his on-camera wrestling persona was similar to the actual person. Spending nights out with Women & riding Space Mountain alongside them was normal. Sharply dressed suits were indicative of a world-class caliber athlete! Flair wore those Rolex watches and custom-made clothing combined with arrogance-generated wrestling’s most detested personality. When spectators expect such legendary characters to ride off into the sunset, they conceive the celebrity saying goodbye.

Do classic wrestlers revamp themselves by relying on previous successes? Yes, they do & after years of experience, fans also ask the question does this tarnish it? Observers might view this as very critical. Wait, there’s more, and I place Ric Flair as number 1 on my Mt. Rushmore whenever I’m referring to the all-time greats. The video that was on social media built up toward Flair’s finale. My impressions are these vignettes are incredibly done. Also, let us not take away from Naitch’s adversary. That media & production crew went beyond anyone’s expectations in creating anticipation. Rumored names included Ricky Steamboat & Ricky Morton, which made sense given eaches associated past with Ric. The big reveal is second-generation WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett. It’s not just between Ric & Jeff but between Flair teams with son-in-law Andrade El Idolo versus Jarrett & Jay Lethal.

Flair epitomized separate & collaborative greatness. He is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, being inducted first in 2008 as a single, then in 2012 as a member of The Four Horsemen.

Like anybody fell on hard times & went through dark periods as well. His son Reid was to be a big star in the wrestling industry. Reid had all the intangibles for succeeding. He began competing until tragedy sadly struck. Reid passed away in March of 2013! These overwhelming circumstances weighed heavily on Ric Flair naturally. The Nature Boy has battled back before, from personal bouts involving those in wrestling outside of the ring & behind-the-scenes. See, not everyone was cheering for Flair outside of his villainous gimmick. Fans who attended live events & also watched him headline television programming & several famous pay-per-view spectaculars. His legacy got established under Jim Crockett Sr. & Jim Crockett Promotions based in the Carolinas.

The Nature Boy was born there wrestling Harley Race, Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA, Ronnie Garvin, & Terry Funk during that illustrious NWA run. He endured further when Flair left WCW to work for Vince McMahon & WWF/WWE! He faced Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart & Mr. Perfect. Returning south for WCW, Flair feuded against Vader and rekindled his clash by engaging Sting. Soon Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage would wrestle Flair again. During his second run in WWE, Flair enjoyed a rejuvenation. He & Triple H, Randy Orton, & Batista had formed the dominant group called Evolution. He took on The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Triple H, Vince McMahon, & Shawn Michaels & more. Flair’s daughter Charlotte has been a decorated champion for WWE currently.

Flair has bled in one video package leading up to this Sunday night. Blood, Sweat, & Tears still exists respecting professional wrestling. How appropriate that Flair would wrestle his last match for a Crockett. JCP presents the magnificent match card to proceed with what I feel should be most memorable. David Crockett next to Flair feels right. Tony Schiavone & David on commentary, nostalgia here we come down memory lane. Nashville is the city the Jarretts built. Jerry Jarrett ran the prominent Tennessee territory going back to matriarch Christine Jarrett. Conrad Thompson deserves any accolades for helping Ric Flair finish writing his last chapter & ending.

Fans witness wrestling history live in Nashville on Sunday, and you can watch it via PPV on Fite TV.

My great respect for “ The Nature Boy “ He’ll be Stylin’ & Proflin’ down to the ring at least one more time. Thanks, Naitch sincerely a Flair fan.
