Triple H: Game on or Game Over?

Wrestling fans this is what we have been waiting for. TRIPLE H IS IN CHARGE OF CREATIVE!!!!! We all remember how badass black and gold NXT was right? I am going to go through various people, executives and companies and tell you whether its game on for them going forward or game over with the move of Hunter to the head of creative. We all know it’s going to impact a lot of things and I’m just going to let you know whether its good or bad. Sound good? Let’s get to it!!!!!

Kevin Owens

Verdict: Game On

The fact this guy hasn’t touched a title in 5 years hurts my soul. Owens is one of the most talented performers on the roster and is one of Triple H’s original guys. I expect him to benefit the most from this transition and I expect him in the Universal Championship picture after Wrestlemania at the latest.

Kevin Dunn

Verdict: Game Over

This is the time for WWE to part ways with Dunn. With all the latest stuff coming out about him criticizing the female talent and with him pretty much being a Vince guy the time is just right. HHH needs to get someone fresh in that role and for some reason I don’t think anyone on the roster is going to be upset to see him go.

WWE NXT 2.0

Verdict: Game On

I don’t expect Hunter to go to NXT and change it right back to how it was but I do expect the call up process to be much better. You know how nice it’s going to be for Grayson Waller, Carmello Hayes, Joe Gacy and Bron Breakker to go to the main roster and not change their names or gimmicks? It’s going to be so DAMN nice. I’m sick of great talent getting called up and not being used the way they were supposed to be. Those days are thankfully long over.

AEW

Verdict: Game Over

The coke headed pit boss Tony Khan has to be scared at this point and you can tell he is after his recent interview on Busted Open. Openly talking about contract status of Malakai Black and Adam Cole already shows he is kind of shaken up that Hunter is now in charge. NXT was a much better product than AEW which they went head to head and Khan knows that. Do you think Cole, O Reilly, Fish, Lee, Swerve would have all went to AEW if he was in charge of creative 7 months ago? Yeah me either and Khan knows that. Go snort another line Tony, things are going to get rough for you and your two declining shows real fast.

Johnny Gargano

Verdict: Game On

Johnny Wrestling is going to come back to WWE now, it makes too much sense. Besides the fact he had a kid and wanted to spend some time away to be with it I feel he was just trying to find the best situation for him long term. With how great his relationship was with HHH in NXT and how great he was used why wouldn’t he come back with Hunter in charge of the main roster? It just makes too much sense. I could see Gargano back as soon as Summerslam to challenge Seth but if not then I expect him back sooner than later. Hopefully his wife joins him at some point as well.

Roman Reigns

Verdict: Game Paused

Do I think Roman will lose his spot as the top guy? No. Do I think he’s going to be booked differently? No. Do I think Triple H will let him hold the Undisputed Championship hostage? No. I think Roman drops the belt some point between either at the UK event (which I think might be most likely) or at the latest around the Royal Rumble when his feud with The Rock is rumored to start. The Rock vs Roman doesn’t need a title to be a top match and I think Hunter knows having a Cody Rhodes return and win the belt makes much more sense than Roman doing his part time thing and the belts never being on TV. Roman is so good he doesn’t need the belts and they could be better utilized on talent that needs them to further themselves in the eyes of the WWE Universe.

Io Shirai

Verdict: Game On

Who better to know how book Io on the main roster than the guy who brought her to NXT in the first place. Reports are Io wants to go to the main roster but Vince didn’t understand her character. Well, Vince is gone so Io should have an easy decision when Hunter asks her to resign. Io is a crazy talented performer and with her old boss at the helm she will flourish on the main roster no matter what show she ends up on.

Part Time Wrestlers

Verdict: Game Over

Do I expect Hunter to stop using part time guys completely? No, especially not right away. You got The Rock vs Roman which writes itself, John Cena who should be allowed to wrestle when he wants and Brock who should be done with the company soon anyway since he’s so mad Vince is gone. But I do think the capacity that we see these performers is going to go way down. HHH will focus on the talent he has on hand and worry about building them up and rather than have Goldberg, Cena or Brock come back to win titles, he will use them to elevate other young talent which is what he does best. This is a great thing especially for everyone who is sick of part time champions.

Ciampa

Verdict: Game On

Is this one not the most obvious? Hunter loves Ciampa as you can from their time in NXT together and I expect Ciampa to be pushed at some point in the near future. Vince obviously didn’t know what to do with him so he just threw him in with The Miz, which is fine but Ciampa is destined for bigger and better things. Ciampa and as I mentioned above about Kevin Owens should be the two that benefit the most from this change and as a fan of both I can’t wait to see what happens with these two going into the future.

Theory

Verdict: Game Paused

With Vince in charge I honestly thought Theory could cash in this Saturday at Summerslam but now I expect the brakes to be pumped a bit. Theory is a great young talent and I think he’s still destined for stardom but I do think Hunter will slow him down a bit and build him up more before he throws him in with a Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar. A win at Wrestlemania over a John Cena would do wonders for him going forward rather than just having him cash in and with the championship right now. Slow and steady wins the race and if WWE follows that method I think they have a cornerstone of their company for the next 15 years in Theory. Also, please give him his first name back.
