A mega-star is set to appear at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s annual event titled Wrestle Kingdom 17. She’s a multiple WWE Champion Mercedes Varnardo aka “ The Boss “ Sasha Banks will be present for the two night spectacular that’s equivalent to their WrestleMania. PW Insider, broke this report. We do know recently Banks filed to trademark her real name Mercedes Varnado.

The wrestling community have noticed pictures of her training since exiting WWE back in May. Also could this possibly set up a dream match between her & the inaugural IWGP women’s Champion for Stardom-Kaori Housako ( Kairi Sane in WWE). Wrestle Kingdom takes place on Jan. 4th, & Jan. 21, 2023.

2. Regal leaves AEW

It’s been confirmed by AEW owner that William Regal is in fact leaving the promotion effectively in January. After speclation intensified over Regal’s contract expiring & with Triple H back in control of WWE that his Lordship’s return would be imminent. During the Ring of Honor Final Battle media call, Khan said, he & Regal discussed his status. It was understood about Regal wanting to return to WWE. The man who put together the Blackpool Combat Club expressed his intentions at being a coach for WWE & getting to be with his son Charlie Dempsey who currently wrestles for NXT. Khan honored these wishes & declined to pick up the remainder of his contract.
I am paraphrasing this statement.

Khan stated: “ Basically, he’s got a son who works at another wrestling promotion and he really wanted us at the end of the year when we had the option to renew the contract, he was asking that we would not. “ “ Nothing bad, we were having a great time working together but that this an opportunity for him to go back and work in his golden years of his career with his son. “

Tony & William talked for over 90 minutes. We should mentioned that Khan’s mother had suffered multiple strokes. Prayers for Mrs. Khan.

This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite. Khan had Tony Schiavone release a secret video package with Regal, which was filmed two weeks earlier. It proved to be an emotional goodbye.

3. Both Roman & McIntyre injured

Breaking news concerning two WWE superstars. Roman Reigns & Drew McIntyre are both out of action due to injury. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter have communicated this news regarding these wrestlers’.

Here’s what there report concluded;

“ Both Reigns & McIntyre are out of action for right now due to suffering ruptured eardrums at Survivor Series. It’s a short-term thing & they are set to return soon. The Undisputed Universal Champion isn’t expected to be on any of the post Christmas shows, that includes the Madison Square Garden Show. Drew will be scheduled for the MSG event. McIntyre was hurt at Survivor Series, but kept wrestling through it until a Portland, Maine house show on Dec. 4th. Drew did not realize the severity of this injury. He found out upon examination afterward by the medical staff. The Scottish Warrior had announced concerning him being medically disqualified on Dec. 5th. WWE didn’t discuss what the injury was.

Since their report. WWE would announce that Reigns’s will return on next week’s SmackDown.

4. John Cena to appear on the final SmackDown for 2022

Variety magazine broke the exclusive news about John Cena’s appearance in the final episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for 2022! The publication learned that Cena makes a return to WWE via December 30th. This epic show is emnanating at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. A source close to the situation said, more information we’ll be available in the coming weeks.

John Cena last was seen on the 20th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw from earlier this year. Cena has established himself as the face of the sports-entertainment empire. He’s a multiple-time Champion & the Hollywood star hasn’t wrestled a match during that previous appearance, but Cena delivered another heartfelt in-ring promo & was involved in different backstage segments as it pertains to that Raw.

Cena last wrestled Roman Reigns during “ The Summer of Cena “ your where he challenged Champion Reigns at SummerSlam in August 2021. His cinematic roles entailed James Gunn’s “ Suicide Squad “ film & the DC series called “ The Peacemaker “ at HBO Max (2022). Other notable projects included the political themed film “ The Independent “ on Peacock. Cena has done comedy as well. A film titled “ The Bubble “ as seen via Netflix.

5. Roman Reigns working both nights of WrestleMania, might drop the title

Xero News reports that internal discussions had commenced on having Roman Reigns possibly working both night of WrestleMania 39. Also there’s changes he might not go into the rumored Rock match as Undisputed Champion. News progresses concerning Reigns versus The Rock at Mania in LA.

Likely feuds for Roman might be Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens. Another star who could be a candidate to dethrone, “ The Tribal Chief “ is Cody Rhodes. Since a Royal Rumble come back seems plausible. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter & Wrestling News. Co are also backing up these reports.

We honestly desire either Roman against Rock or the matches aforementioned with Owens, Zayn, & Cody as potential opponents. WWE can go several ways creatively with this.

Be sure & follow WB for all your wrestling needs.
