Roman Reigns is the top star in WWE right now and there’s no doubt about his accomplishments in ten years. Reigns is currently having his dream run as champion and is close to crossing 1000 days as WWE Universal Champion of all time on May 28, 2023.
Everyone knows that his real name is Joe Anoa’i & he is the cousin of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and third generation star from the great Samoan family.
His life is an open book since his debut in 2012 but still, there are some surprising facts about Roman Reigns, which fans never know.

5. Roman Reigns was an NFL player
Before stepping into the pro-wrestling world, Reigns played the NFL with Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguar. He retired from football in 2008 and that seems a good decision now.
4. Roman Reigns worked as a furniture installation worker
After retiring from NFL, he worked as a furniture installation worker for her sister with Jimmy and Jey Uso as part of their furniture installation business.
Jimmy and Jey also revealed that they installed the office furniture on daily basis with Reigns during that period of time.
3. Roman Reigns use contact lenses in the ring.
Yes, Reigns wear contact lenses whenever he wrestles in the ring. It’s still unknown why he uses contact lenses because outside the ring he doesn’t wear glasses so it’s unclear whether he wear lens because of his eyesight or because of bright lights in the arena.
Reigns’ actual color of eyes is brown but when he used to wrestle between 2012 – 2015 his eye’s color was blue.
2. Roman Reigns appeared in the NETFLIX movie
After Reigns announced his battle with Leukemia and was forced to walk away from WWE in 2018. He refuses to sit in the home. Instead, he joined The Rock in the movie ‘Hobbs and Shaw’.
But Hobbs and Shaw was not the only movie Reigns did at that time. He also did a cameo in a NETFLIX movie named ‘The Wrong Missy’.
1. Roman Reigns is Half Italian
Since Reigns’ debut, there had been talks of his relationship with The Rock. Reigns and Rock are not blood relatives. But, Reigns is the real cousin of The Usos and Umaga.
His real-life brother was Rosey who passed away in 2017. His family is well known because of the Samoan culture and the past of the Samoan heritage connected to the pro wrestling industry.
But one thing got overlooked and that was Reigns’ mother Patricia. She is Italian and his father Sika is Samoan. So, actually, Reigns is Half Italian.
