3. WWE puts Drew McIntyre in a Recycled storyline

Drew McIntyre is certainly one of the top babyfaces of the company right now. He is a former two-time WWE champion as well. McIntyre was the guy who carry the company on his shoulders during the pandemic & Thunderdome Era. Now, he was drafted to Smackdown and WWE is putting him in a good ‘ol’ storyline.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has placed Drew McIntyre in a recycled storyline which will see him getting screwed by authority figures, especially with Brock Lesnar set to return next week on Friday Night Smackdown. Many predicted that he is going to be the next challenger for Reigns title but he was absent from the Battle Royale.

So the key stuff is that Brock Lesnar is back next week and they’re doing a new gimmick where the authority figures are trying to screw with Drew McIntyre which is an entirely new storyline that WWE has never done before, but you know what’s what they’re doing. They’re repeating the stuff from the past. I mean, that’s what we’re seeing everywhere.

WWE has been using the authority figure storylines for well over two decades, with the most notable one in recent times being Kofi Kingston’s feud against Daniel Bryan in 2019. But we think that this storyline will help McIntyre overcoming the odds because he still needs his Wrestlemania moment.
