King Kong Bundy
During the mid-80s, Bundy was a huge presence in the WWF; he main evented the 2nd ever WrestleMania against Hulk Hogan for the WWF title in addition to headlining the inaugural Survivor Series. A massive monster as well as an established name, he had a solitary ECW (then Eastern Championship Wrestling) appearance in the debut of their flagship show November To Remember.
In 1994, Bundy returned to the WWF as another towering behemoth for DiBiase’s blossoming group. Bundy was not treated as much of a deal in this era, with wrestling having moved on a decade and fans preferring faster, flashier stars. The former WrestleMania main eventer lasted only 3 minutes in the 1995 Royal Rumble and lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 11 in a short and forgettable bout with MLB umpire Larry Young randomly placed as referee. Bundy was gone by the end of the year.
In the years after the promotion, Bundy continued to wrestle on the independent scene including the infamous Heroes of Wrestling card in 1999. Furthermore, he dabbled his hand at acting and stand-up comedy before attempting to sue the WWE in a mass class-action lawsuit citing dangerous neglect of injuries. A year after that in 2019, he would, unfortunately, pass away from complications from diabetes.
