1. Kazarian
On July 29th Don Callis cut a promo in the ring with the Elite, they were interrupted by Sami Callihan who announced that the following week there would be a 3 on 3 match with the Elite vs Sami and 2 partners, he then went on to say “you better watch your back, I might just jump the guard rail right now?” At that moment Kazarian jumped the Elite from behind and made his Impact return for the first time in over 7 years.
Kazarian deserved every bit of those welcome back chants as he is sadly someone who doesn’t get talked about enough when it comes to The X Division. Everyone mentions AJ Styles, Jerry Lynn, Chris Sabin, Amazing Red or Low Ki, but Kazarian was also there at the beginning. He is took part in the first ever Ultimate X after all and is very often the one you could rely on on for that OMG moment.
This return was brilliant too and in my eyes the first and only time we saw Impact and AEW cross over storylines. Kazarian was doing this Elite Killer gimmick on AEW, so with Sami Callihan and Eddie Edwards (Sami’s partner) needing a 3rd man, who better to go against The Elite than Kazarian, the man who is The Elite Killer? This lead to Sami, Eddie and Kazarian getting the win over The Elite and within a couple of weeks, The Elite were Killed (on Impact) with Omega no longer being the champion. Be it luck or smart planning but this worked to perfection.
