4. CM Punk vs Ryback & Paul Heyman (Hell In A Cell 2013)
When in doubt, rehash the same match from last year was pretty much the thought at Hell In A Cell 2013. Ryback again faced Punk, but this time the face/heel dynamic was switched.
What started hot soon plummeted as the feud fell off drastically. What was originally the brilliant Punk vs Lesnar and SummerSlam soon became Punk vs a Ryback who was significantly more hindered and mid-card than last year. The ex-Skip Sheffield felt more like a third wheel in a feud revolved around Heyman and Punk.
The match started awkward enough as Heyman took a botched scissor lift ride to the top of the cell where he stayed in this ‘handicap’ match. In an uninspired bout, Punk defeated Ryback before ascending the cage to beat up former manager Heyman. This revenge was a few kendo stick shots and a GTS.
The end result was a nice moment but it was a long, flatlining road to get to the end. However, it was probably not as bad a match as…
