10 WORST SummerSlam Matches
The dark side of Summer’s biggest event
8. Nailz vs Virgil (SummerSlam 1992)
SummerSlam 1992 may be one of the more memorable PPVs of the title but it was not all hits as 3 matches were cut out of the US broadcast, a clash between ex-Demolition members in worse gimmick as Crush fought Repo Man and the worst: Nailz vs Virgil.
Even as popular as Virgil was at the time, he was always a sub-par at best worker. On top of this, ex-convict Nailz was a gimmick created for The Big Boss Man alone and was only good at one move – a choke. A mercilessly short match at under 4 minutes, it mostly saw Nailz locking on some kind of stranglehold, with which he would eventually win.
A rightfully forgotten match, this rotten display was a far cry from Virgil’s best PPV outing a year earlier when facing Ted DiBiase. Let’s just say Nailz is not quite as much of an in-ring general or talented wrestled as “The Million Dollar Man”.
