Diesel did an outside dive in this match – probably the most athletic move of his career – but it didn’t stop this match being a royal flush down the toilet (pun very much intended).

Having won King Of The Ring 1995 beating a laughably weak bracket that saw Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker not pass the quarter-finals, Mabel promptly main evented SummerSlam 1995. Now, it’s probably no secret that this time was wrestling dark ages with the WWE especially producing some of their worst creative. Needing more heel contenders for Diesel, Mabel was selected.

Even as a face, Mabel was not a main eventer so this instant push to the top felt drastic. Obviously, the match was about as appetizing as a sandwich featuring toothpaste, human eyeballs and a fresh dollop of a non-drawing 9-month world title reign. Mabel legit injured Nash by dropping his full body weight on him, prompting a lengthy rest period and more backstage heat on the worker already harboring a bad reputation for injuring opponents. After 9 awful minutes, Diesel won with a flying clothesline because as shown with Gonzalez/Undertaker, that always concludes a match of the year candidate(!).

On another note, also on this PPV card were Barry Horowitz, Isaac Yankem DDS and Bertha Faye. Thank God we have Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon!
