WCW is a company that has seen its fair share of claims that they pillaged all their top talent from elsewhere. Whether it is Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan from the WWF or Ric Flair and Sting from the NWA, these accusations are largely unfair as DDP, Goldberg and Booker T have proved this is not always true. That said, there are some stars better known elsewhere who you didn’t know had a cup of coffee in Atlanta, who we will take a look at now.

25. AJ Styles

AJ Styles is one of the top names in the pro wrestling industry. Styles considered as one of the greatest of all time of the modern era. Currently, he is working for WWE. But he made a name for himself at TNA and considered to be the cornerstone of the company. Also, he became one of the top heels at NJPW and carry forward the legacy of the infamous heel faction ‘Bullet Club’.

However, very few people know that Styles worked for WCW as well back in 2001. WCW had observed Styles and Air Paris program in NWA Wildside and offered each a contract in early 2001. Styles got renamed as Air Styles and Paris were placed in a tag team, which was named Air Raid. The team’s gimmick saw both men dress in G-suits, with Air Raid appearing on Thunder three times.

On the March 5, 2001 episode of Nitro, they were entered into a tournament for the newly created WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship but were eliminated in the first round by eventual winners Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo.
