Remembering Superstar Billy Graham

Sadly Pro Wrestling has lost an icon & pioneer this week. ” Superstar ” Billy Graham died on Wednesday, May 17th, at age 79. The WWE Hall of Famer and 1-time WWWF World Heavyweight Champion was ahead of his time. Billy Graham’s look, promos, and overall style influenced numerous mega-stars like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Jesse Ventura, and countless others became evident. Superstar possessed unrivaled charisma. Graham’s physique inspired future generations concerning bodybuilding/ wrestling. Fans remember his rivalries against notable legends Bruno Sammartino, Dusty Rhodes, Ivan Putski & many others. Superstar held Championship Gold in the various NWA territories as well. 

Quoting one of Graham’s famed promos: ” I’m the man of the hour, the man with the power, too sweet to be sour. ” 

The WB sends our heartfelt prayers & condolences to his family, friends, and fans. RIP 1943-2023!!!

1. Randy Orton Retiring?

WWE star Randy Orton’s future is in doubt. Bill Apter had recently talked with WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton during an 80s Wrestling Convention & updated everyone on his son Randy Orton. He told Apter that Randy was training, yet doctors advised him regarding his son’s in-ring future.

Here’s a ( paraphrased) excerpt: ” He’s training & we’ll see what happens, ” Bob Orton explained. ” I don’t know if he feels like returning. If he feels like going back or if Randy feels ready to go back, I think he might come back. Bob Orton continued, then again, she takes care of himself. ” Cowboy ” Bob Orton doesn’t think Randy needs to. The doctors have informed the 14-time WWE Champion not to wrestle. Randy does what he wants & he always does, ” His father added. ” 

Orton has remained out of action since the previous summer and underwent back surgery circa November.

2. CM Punk out Again?

Did Warner Bros. Discovery confirm the status of CM Punk in AEW? 

According to new reports, the company stated that Punk isn’t associated with TNT’s AEW Collision, ” assisting current speculation on Punk’s return in AEW. They also remarked on if anything changed. 

Fightful Select provided an update, ” there are still plans for CM Punk & were active content plans involving Punk. ” Originally, Punk was a part of the launch for Collision. Later Punk found himself removed from that. From their understanding, he and Tony Khan kept in contact. The 2-time AEW Champion wanted to keep his return as a surprise. It’s unknown the reasons why. Other plans suspect Punk is behind drawing up plans for this new show. He pushed for both Andrade El Idolo & FTR to be on the program. It’s believed that Ace Steel was returning to being rehired by AEW. Steel got fired over the Brawl Out incident for his participation with Punk & The Elite. 

3. Seth ‘ Hollywood’ Rollins

WWE star Seth Rollins is starring in a new Marvel film titled Captain America New World Order. 

Reports state Rollins could miss additional TV because of his new acting career after being absent from last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Seth wrestles AJ Styles for the new World Title at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 27th, due to filming this new movie. Many favor Rollins winning the belt. Several conclude that Seth is the number one guy for Triple H. Dave Meltzer- had reported that Seth will miss this week’s WWE Raw.

4. Liv Injured and titles relinquished

Breaking News: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriquez relinquish their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles!!!

Morgan’s injury forced a change as both of them surrendered the belts. WWE announced a Fatal 4-way match to determine new champions on the May 29th episode of Raw. These teams; Raquel & an unkown tag-team partner vs. Damage Control ( Bayley & IYO SKY) versus Sonya & Chelsea Green vs. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. 

5. Drew Re-Signed?

Details regarding Drew McIntyre. None of us know his contract situation. 

The attention has been on Drew McIntyre after WrestleMania 39, Following the glaring disappearance from WWE TV & future of the company. McIntyre has expressed dissatisfaction about his character’s creative direction. 

Previous reports claim that he and WWE can not agree on contractual terms. There’s a good possibility they will extend his contract. Dave Meltzer wrote (paraphrased) McIntyre’s return comes down to creative issues. What he desires and when they agree on it. ” Meltzer added, “To my knowledge, he’s not asked to leave, but they have not agreed to a new deal. ”
