By 1986, former WWF megastar Jimmy Snuka had left the World Wrestling Federation and the promotion set their mind on trying to clone another Snuka. Thus came the creation of Sivi Afi, who was depicted as the Fijian’s cousin and was even nicknamed ‘Superfly’ to further this illusion.

However, for someone who was trying to be booked as a Snuka prototype, he was not handled well, quickly falling down the card into an enhancement role on TV to the much bigger stars. Realising the face run was not panning out as they had likely planned, he debuted a new gimmick in that of ‘High Chief’ Afi, based on Peter Maivia.

For this part, he had a large part of his body tattooed. He teamed in 6-man tags alongside Bobby Heenan-managed team The Islanders (Haku and Tama). However, despite all of his commitment and dedication, he was not in ‘The Brain’’s Heenan Family for long as Tama soon left the company. Following this, Haku was bestowed a crown as King – leaving Afi directionless on the card. He would be gone shortly afterwards.
