02. John Cena (c) Vs. Daniel Bryan – WWE Championship with Triple H as the Special Guest Referee (SummerSlam 2013)

The Number 02 spot belongs to one of the greatest main event in the history of SummerSlam. John Cena versus Daniel Bryan was great for so many reasons like The Rise of the Authority and solidifying Bryan as the main event star in the company.

This match’s backstory was as amazing as the match. Cena chooses Bryan as his opponent for SummerSlam to defend his WWE Championship. Being an underdog, Bryan was so over with crowd. Fans were almost frustrated with Cena holding the title on several occasions and the work horses and the underdogs of the company were not getting enough chance to shine, and Bryan played the underdog that the fans wanted to see from a very long time.

The match itself was amazing and adding Triple H as the special guest referee in the mix was the cherry on the top. After a thirty minutes of pure gold, Bryan hits Cena with his newly invented finisher ‘The Running Knee’ for the victory and the crowd just explodes.

What this match more amazing and memorable was the aftermath. Randy Orton appeared with his Money in the Bank contract, raising the briefcase. Triple H attacked Bryan with a Pedigree, turning heel. Orton cashed in the contract and pinned Bryan to win the title, and the entire crowd was just in pure shock at the end of the night.
